At the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 in May, Chery Auto showcased several electric rugged SUVs under the iCAUR brand that are seen as unique and have their own appeal among other electric cars that look typical and ordinary. Today, they have launched the first model of the iCAUR 03 for the global market, and Malaysia is the first country to start selling it.
The iCAUR 03 is an electric rugged SUV that features a futuristic design. It has a high floor, suitable for rugged use and uneven roads. You can even do rugged activities such as traveling in the forest, crossing rivers, and many more, with up to 10 driving modes available for this purpose. Although built for rugged purposes, it is still full of sophistication with a 360. degree camera, separate instrument and inforia displays, a level 2 self-driving system, front seats with massage functions and more.
It comes in two versions with the initial version being a 2-wheel drive version which has a 65.7 kWh battery providing a travel distance of 426 KM NEDC. This version has a rear electric motor drive that produces 135kW of power and 220 Nm of torque. For the second version which is an all-wheel drive (iWD) it is capable of providing up to 205kW of power and 385 Nm of torque. While the battery has a capacity of 69.8 kWh with a travel distance of 418 KM NEDC.
Completing all these features is 6.6 kW AC charging and 80kW DC fast charging. It also supports the V2L function, suitable for rugged use, you can camp in the forest and still have an electricity source from this electric car.
iCAUR 03 2WD is sold at a starting price of RM 119,800 while iCAUR 03 iWD is sold at a starting price of RM 129,800. It also comes with a 7-year or 150,000 KM mileage warranty, an 8-year or 160,000 KM battery and electric drive warranty, and a battery replacement warranty if the battery health level drops below 70%.
For the first 1000 buyers, various rewards are also provided in the form of entertainment coupons such as GSC movie tickets, pickleball sports, electric go-karts and many more. Interestingly, iCAUR has also collaborated with JomCharge, and buyers of the iCAUR 03 will receive unlimited charging for a year throughout Malaysia using their chargers, and it also supports the AutoCharge charging protocol, allowing users to not need to launch the app to charge this electric rugged SUV on chargers that support it. For a limited time, you can also get the special edition iCAUR 03 in black for an additional RM 20,000.
With the arrival of the iCAUR 03 in the local market, with its low price, it certainly provides consumers with a choice, and Chery is also in the process of completing their assembly plant, allowing iCAUR electric car models to be assembled in Shah Alam starting January 2026.
