Intel Announces Management Reshuffles for Several Business Units

Throughout the year, Intel has been one of a small group of tech giants that are reshuffling their workforce and management following the company's massive losses in recent years.

The chipmaker has recently announced new management positions for several key divisions of the company, including the Intel Data Centre Group, the Intel Client Computing Group, the Intel Foundry division, and a newly formed division called the Intel Central Engineering Group.

Starting with the Intel Data Centre Group, Kevork Kechichian has joined Intel as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Intel Data Centre Group. He joined Intel from ARM, where he had experience as vice president of engineering at the company. He was part of the team that transformed ARM from a technology licensor to a company that also introduced new products that other tech companies could leverage.

Jim Johnson, a 40-year Intel executive, has been promoted to vice president and general manager of the Intel Client and Computing Group, a position he previously held on an interim basis.

He previously held various management positions across Intel, including the Intel Technology and Manufacturing Group, the Networking and Communications Group, and other Intel locations. He will now be responsible for all aspects of Intel's consumer client business, which is expected to include all Intel consumer products in the near future, such as Intel Panther Lake and the upcoming Nova Lake.

The Intel Central Engineering Group is a newly formed division that, according to an Intel statement, is responsible for helping external technology companies leverage Intel's existing semiconductor chip design and manufacturing technologies for their needs.

The division will be led by Srinivasan Iyengar, who joined Intel from Cadence Design Systems in June of this year. He has experience in developing hyperscale server systems and has a deep understanding of the industry's needs in developing custom semiconductor chip and server technologies.

Intel also confirmed that all of these individuals will report directly to the company's CEO, Lip-Bu Tan.
