Instagram Tests Reels-Focused Home Page in India

Meta is now sharing that they are testing a new experiment in India, namely an Instagram interface that prioritizes the display of Reels. With this change, when users open the Instagram app, they will be shown Reels content first on the home page.

This makes the Instagram user experience similar to what TikTok offers – which is focusing on random video sharing, rather than from close friends. Meta has previously said that Instagram now reaches 3 billion active users per month, and it is now shared by users sharing Reels more than 4.5 billion times per day across Meta platforms.

Users can still see Stories shares at the top of the page, so as not to miss any of their friends' shares. In addition, a special menu is also included to make it easier for users to view various shares as usual, and at the same time, the access menu to the messaging box is also given the main attention.

For now, this experiment involves the Indian market first, and it is not impossible that we will see it expanded to other markets in stages in the future.
