Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has now shared that Malaysia now has over 4100 electric vehicle charging points nationwide so far. However, this figure is still far from the government's initial target of 10,000 by the end of 2025.
Today, various electric vehicles are offered in Malaysia, and with the introduction of new vehicles from Proton and Perodua, it is expected to further increase electric vehicle ownership in Malaysia.
This shift is also said to enable Malaysia to be positioned as a hub for green and environmentally sustainable driving.
According to data on PlanMalaysia, it is shown that there are 4141 charging points today, with 2857 being AC charging points, and 1304 being DC charging points. Around 1834 are also positioned indoors, while 2327 are outdoors.
