It's no secret that Meta will be launching new smart glasses at Connect tomorrow. Perhaps because of the excitement, a promotional video for the new Meta Ray-Ban Display smart glasses was published early on YouTube before being pulled. It finally shows the design of Meta's first mixed reality (MR) smart glasses.
The built-in display system is placed on the right eye lens and can display Meta AI virtual assistant, navigation apps, switch message board languages and many other interesting features. The capabilities shown in the advertisement are the same as the demo of Android XR smart glasses at Google I/O last May.
This time the name Meta Ray-Ban is used and not Ray-Ban Meta. Perhaps after investing $3.5 billion in Ray-Ban's parent company, EssilorLuxottica, they have more power to put the Meta name on the front.
In terms of design, it is similar to the Ray-Ban Meta only with a thicker frame. The shared video also shows that the Meta Ray-Ban Display can be used with an EMR wristband that reads brain waves.
