OnePlus China CEO Li Jie Louis announced that OnePlus will usher in a new era in smartphone display technology with higher refresh rates. He stated that this technology is one of the biggest improvements in the user experience over the past decade.
He also welcomed Apple’s move to join the high refresh rate era with the launch of the iPhone 17 which supports 120Hz displays across the board. According to him, high refresh rate technology is increasingly accepted as an important feature in smartphones and has the potential to become an industry standard.
Li Jie expects that other manufacturers may take a similar approach as has happened before. He also believes that the introduction of this new technology will not only expand user choices but also contribute to improving the overall experience.
The model expected to carry this technology is the OnePlus 15 which will be equipped with a 1.5K resolution display and a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The device is expected to be officially launched in China in October 2025.
