Fujifilm has launched its first cinema camera, the GFX Eterna 55, which supports recording up to 8K DCI. It is equipped with a large-format 102MP CMOS II HS sensor, combined with the X-Processor 5 image processor to produce sharp visual quality.
The GFX Eterna 55 supports recording in a variety of formats including Super 35 6.3K, 4K at 60fps, and Full HD up to 120fps. The camera also offers support for professional codecs such as Apple ProRes and H.265 10-bit 4:2:2, as well as external recording up to 12-bit RAW via HDMI.
The GFX Eterna 55 comes with an advanced hybrid autofocus system that can detect a variety of subjects such as faces, animals, vehicles, airplanes and even trains. The camera is also equipped with an electronic ND filter that can be adjusted from ND0.6 to ND2.1. This makes it easy for users to adjust the lighting according to the situation without having to manually change the filter.
The camera is equipped with a 5″ LCD touchscreen with a brightness of up to 2,000 nits. It offers 20 film simulation options such as Eterna, Classic Chrome, Nostalgic Neg and Velvia for easy reproduction of creative and cinematic works. The GFX Eterna 55 will go on sale in late October 2025 for around $16,499.95 (~RM69,596).
