OpenAI has not yet made a profit, and is operating at a loss using investors' money. It was previously targeted to achieve profitability within a few years, but it is not impossible that the period will be extended.
According to the latest report, OpenAI is targeted to burn up to $115 billion by 2029. This latest value is seen to show an increase of up to $80 billion, compared to the previous target. For 2025 alone, OpenAI is targeted to spend around $8 billion, a figure that is $1.5 billion higher than the previous target.
Various costs are associated with the increase in the value of this operation, including involving data centers, chips and so on. OpenAI itself is seen towards several other alternative methods, including developing its own data centers, developing its own chips and so on.
Previously, several parties were ready to criticize OpenAI's operating value which is seen to be quite high compared to others. Not to mention that previously, DeepSeek was surprised by the fact that it managed to reach operational levels using an investment value that was many times lower than other competitors in the United States.
