Pos Malaysia Berhad has strengthened its commitment to environmental sustainability with the addition of 136 units of Maxus eDeliver 3 electric vans to its delivery fleet. The vehicles were acquired through a strategic partnership with Weststar Maxus and its main leasing partner Yinson GreenTech.
The addition of 136 units of Maxus eDeliver 3 electric vans brings Pos Malaysia’s total electric vehicle fleet to 1,652 units, comprising 1,252 electric motorcycles and 400 electric vans. With this figure, Pos Malaysia has emerged as the largest EV fleet operator in the country’s logistics sector to date.
The new vans will begin operating at selected locations in East Malaysia, expanding its EV-based delivery services nationwide. Each van is expected to reduce up to 1.11 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year and contribute to reducing its operational carbon footprint.
This move supports Pos Malaysia’s target of using EVs for its first and last routes by 2030. Its long-term goal is to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Pos Malaysia’s EV fleet itself has recorded over 7.2 million emission-free delivery kilometres, equivalent to 179 circumnavigations of the globe.
The Maxus eDeliver 3 vans are leased through Yinson GreenTech, which also provides after-sales support, regular maintenance and smart technology such as route optimisation and fleet dashboards. This technology enables real-time monitoring of vehicle performance, thereby improving operational efficiency.
Previously, Yinson GreenTech had supplied 143 units of CAM EC35 electric vans to Pos Malaysia by 2024 through a smart EV leasing service that includes technical support and charging at depots nationwide. This initiative can further strengthen Pos Malaysia’s position in leading the way towards a sustainable future through various recent and ongoing initiatives.
Meanwhile, Pos Malaysia also plans to further expand its EV fleet by 2026, including exploring collaborations in renewable energy charging infrastructure and smart route management.
