Uber Will Offer Flying Taxis As Early as 2026

Uber will finally offer a “flying” service as early as 2026. This is through a partnership with Blade, a subsidiary of Joby Aviation. As previously reported, Joby Aviation will offer their flying taxi service in Dubai this year.

Since 2016, Uber has wanted to offer a flying taxi service with the eCRM concept shown in 2018. Uber’s original plan was to offer UberAir by 2023, but after experiencing financial problems, their own flying taxi development project was stopped.

The flying taxi war is now subsiding with Joby, eHang, Volocopter and Archer Aviation becoming the four main companies that have successfully made their first flights. Archer, for example, will offer flying taxis during the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Volocopter failed to offer it at the Paris Olympics last year after failing to receive permission from the Mayor
