WhatsApp starts testing new features that allow iOS device users to set reminders for messages in individual and group conversations. This feature was previously introduced to Android users and is now expanded to iOS users.
Users who receive this feature can set a direct reminder from the Message menu with a time selection of two hours, eight hours, one day or specific time as needed.
When this reminder is activated, the bell icon will appear on the message as the display marker and the notification will be sent when the time comes. It is also complete with message text, media preview and original conversation name.
All of these reminders are fully processed in the device to maintain user privacy without access to third parties including WhatsApp themselves.
Currently, the feature is being tested among selected beta users and is expected to be expanded to more in the coming weeks.
