Microsoft was expected to introduce Xbox Mode full-screen mode to its ASUS Xbox ROG Ally console when it launched, but the mode, which was built specifically for all mobile PC consoles, seems to have already leaked to all of them without waiting for an official announcement.
If you own a mobile PC console like the ASUS ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go or MSI Claw, you can update your console to the latest Windows 11 25H2 update through the Release Preview program that allows you to download and test the upcoming update early.
With Xbox Mode, you will basically launch the Xbox App directly when you turn on your console. You will not be taken to the usual Windows 11 interface, and the Explorer section will not be used. In theory, this will free up more memory and CPU power that can be utilized by built-in games for a smoother gaming experience.
This follows our report yesterday that the Xbox PC app has been updated with the ability to display games from multiple different game stores.
If you're interested in trying this feature out on your console, you can use this guide to download the latest update. Keep in mind that this may cause your console to perform at a suboptimal level. You can also choose to wait for the feature to officially arrive.
