Budget 2026: Startups Contribute RM1 Billion to Malaysia's GDP



Through the presentation of Budget 2026, the government is seen to continue to focus on the startup or startup (technology-related) arena in Malaysia. So far, startups are seen to contribute RM1 billion to the GDP, while also generating 82,000 job opportunities in Malaysia.


In line with this positive development, the government announced that the KWAP and Jelawang Capital Pioneer Funds will be increased to RM750 million compared to RM550 million previously. In addition, the Cradle Fund will implement a program with a fund of RM55 million.


At the same time, the government plans to further improve venture capital tax incentives for a period of 10 years, through special tax rates and dividend tax exemptions.
