Rishi Sunak will serve as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2022 to 2024. After his party lost the election, Sunak also resigned as leader of the Conservatives. He is now starting a new career as an employee of Microsoft and Anthropic.
At both technology companies, he holds a part-time advisory position to provide strategic perspectives on current geopolitical trends. Despite being allowed to hold these two positions, Sunak is not allowed to lobby UK MPs to benefit his employer. All of his salary will be donated to The Richmond Project, a charity founded by Sunak and his wife.
While still in office, Sunak introduced several policies that are seen as friendly to the artificial intelligence industry. In a post on his personal social media account, he said he would use his position to ensure technological changes that will deliver improvements in everyone's lives.
