iOS 26.1 Gives You the Option to Change the Transparency Level of Liquid Glass Light

With iOS 26, iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, and macOS Tahoe 26, Apple introduced the new Liquid Glass interface to all of its operating systems. This feature gives the impression that the interface is made of transparent glass. Some people like it and some also feel that Liquid Glass makes some interface elements difficult to read.

Today Apple launched iOS 26.1 beta 4, iPadOS 26.1 beta 4, and macOS 26.1 beta 4 which gives users the option to change the transparency level of Liquid Glass. The options provided are Clear for the existing transparency level and Tinted which reduces the transparency level with the background image appearing more blurry.

Tinted in our opinion makes iOS 26 look like iOS 18. On the lock screen for example, the box that displays notifications has a gray background which makes the text much easier to read. If you miss iOS 18, this Tinted setting is compatible with you.

With the iOS 26.1 beta having been running for three weeks, the final version of iOS 26.1 will surely arrive in the near future along with other operating system updates.
