The use of smart watches and health trackers can help detect various serious diseases better while preventing them from becoming serious or causing death. Modern watches can detect high blood pressure, sleep apnea, irregular heart rhythms and ECG detection. Samsung now announces that they have successfully developed a Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction (Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction) detection system for smart watches.
LVSD is a cardiovascular condition that causes 50% of heart failure and has a higher mortality rate than cancer. It causes the left ventricle of the heart, which is responsible for pumping blood to the body, to become more, causing systolic heart failure.
Samsung's detection system was developed in collaboration with Medical AI, which developed an ECG system powered by artificial intelligence. A special algorithm is generated using data from a patient's 12-point ECG readings. Through early detection of LVSD, not only can lives be saved but early treatment can be provided before the situation becomes more serious.
This Samsung technology has already received regulatory approval from South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) for use in smartwatches.
