Sarawak Pass Announced – One-Stop App for Sarawak Identity, Services and Digital Wallet

The central government is currently seen developing a one-stop digital government service application MyGov to make it easier for Malaysians to access various government services without having to go to physical counters, now the Sarawak government has also been seen announcing that they will be developing a similar application for the people of the state.

Named Sarawak Pass, this application was announced during the International Digital Economy Sarawak 2025 (IDECS 2025) event currently taking place in Kuching, Sarawak. It is a rebranding of the previous Sarawak ID application which housed the digital identity of Sarawakians.

This was announced by the Premier of Sarawak, Yang Amat Bahagia Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari during the launch of the IDECS 2025 event. This application will also be developed by Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS).

Looking at the Sarawak-based applications that are currently available for download, Sarawak Pass is expected to combine the functions of local government applications and digital wallets such as SarawakID, SPay Global (Sarawak Pay), Service Sarawak and Sarawak Gov in one application to reduce the need to download so many applications on users' smart devices.

These additional functions are said to be introduced in the future.

SAINS has told us that Sarawakians can download the Sarawak Pass application via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store starting this afternoon or tonight.
