Telegram has received a new update that allows users to send comments and reactions during group calls or video chats (Comments and Reactions in Group Calls).
This feature allows participants to share their opinions or ask questions directly with the message appearing temporarily on the screen similar to the comments function on TikTok Live. However, it is only available for group calls with less than 1,000 participants. It aims to make conversations more relevant for all users.
Telegram for iOS now comes with a new Liquid Glass interface (Liquid Glass for iOS 26) that matches iOS 26. The navigation bar, keyboard and sticker panel now feature translucent elements with reflection and shimmer effects that move with the touch of a finger.
Other updates include Notes for Contacts support that allows users to add personal notes to a contact's profile. These notes are only visible to the account owner and are displayed at the bottom of the profile.
Telegram also introduced several additional features such as New Profile Color Settings to change the profile background color, Suggested Birthdays to suggest contacts add their birthdays, and Improved Gift Interfaces that are now more attractive. All of these features are available in the latest version of the app.
