Vantage Studios is the name of Ubisoft and Tencent's new subsidiary



Vantage Studios is the name of Ubisoft and Tencent's new subsidiary announced in March. It is now responsible for developing the Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six series of games. The new company is valued at €4 billion (~RM 19.13 billion) with Tencent investing €1.16 billion (~5.55 billion) to hold a 25% stake in the company. Charlie Guillemot and Christophe Derennes have been appointed as joint CEOs of Vantage Studios.


Previously, Tencent already held 10% of Ubisoft's shares with rumors that they were interested in taking over the company from the Guillemot family who founded it in 1986. With this, all games under the Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six series will be developed by the new subsidiary.


All game IPs that have been developed, are being developed, and will be developed in the future will also be held forever by the new subsidiary. The studios that will be involved are Ubisoft Montréal, Quebec, Sherbrooke, Saguenay, Barcelona, ​​and Sofia.


At this point Tencent already owns or has invested heavily in video game companies Riot Games, Epic Games, Larian Studios, From Software, Krafton, Activision Blizzard, Remedy, Supercell and more.
