WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will allow users to share questions via status updates. Through this feature, users can add question stickers to statuses in the form of images or videos.
Each status is only allowed to contain one question and all responses from viewers will be collected privately in a special section that can only be accessed by the status owner.
The feature aims to make statuses more engaging by allowing users to ask questions and receive feedback directly.
Viewers can answer directly through the question box displayed in the status, and each answer will be sent privately to the status owner without being made public.
Users will receive notifications when there are new answers, and all responses can be reviewed through the viewer list which is now equipped with a special section for questions and answers.
Users can also choose to share interesting answers as a new status without revealing the identity of the answerer. In addition, they can delete or report inappropriate responses, thus maintaining full control over every interaction received.
This feature is being rolled out gradually to more users in the coming weeks. Interestingly, this function resembles the question and answer feature that Instagram has long introduced through their Stories update.
