WhatsApp has now started testing a new feature that will allow users to add Facebook profiles to their account information pages. Previously, only Instagram profile links were supported, but with this addition, users can connect more social media accounts directly in the app.
This feature is being rolled out in stages to WhatsApp beta users for Android. Once enabled, the Facebook link will appear directly on the user's profile, making it easier for contacts to connect across platforms.
Users are also given the option to verify the link through the 'Accounts Center' for identity verification purposes. However, this process is optional and will not affect the user experience if not done.
WhatsApp also provides privacy settings that allow users to control who can see the Facebook link on their profile. Available options include display to everyone, contacts only, specific individuals or hide it completely.
This feature is still in the testing phase and is expected to be expanded to more users in the near future.
