OpenAI today introduced its latest experimental feature, group chat support on ChatGPT. With this step, multiple users can collaborate in the same window.
Using this feature, it is optimized to not interrupt while users are chatting or communicating with each other, and only responds when “ChatGPT” is mentioned in a message. It is also said to be able to interact based on the context in the group conversation.
For now, OpenAI is offering this feature on a limited basis in a few markets only, including Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and Taiwan. This introduction is expected to lead to a number of new uses for ChatGPT, in addition to possibly making it a medium for group communication.
For your information, Meta is also in the process of introducing Meta AI integration in WhatsApp, for more or less the same purpose.
