Samsung is expected to introduce its latest flagship device series, the Samsung Galaxy S26, which is expected to come in three models as usual, including the Samsung Galaxy S26, Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
All three smart device models are seen to come with different display sizes, different memory and storage offerings, and again, different CPU offerings as well.
Several reports from South Korea say that for the device models, only the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will come with an option powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor chip, while the other two models will be powered by Samsung's own latest processor chip, the Samsung Exynos 2600.
Chosun Biz, a South Korean news site that reported on this matter, said that the flagship Qualcomm chip was chosen because it is still a well-known name for the premium device class for users who want a powerful device.
Technically, this is also nothing new because their current flagship device models, namely the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 also use the current Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship processor chip.
The Samsung Exynos 2600 processor chip is their most powerful mobile device processor chip produced using the 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) process, which is their most modern semiconductor chip production process.
The use of the chip in Samsung's two latest model devices means that they are at least confident in the performance of the designed chip, as well as in their own processor chip production capacity.
Although the Qualcomm flagship chip will be used in the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra model, in the future there is a possibility that Samsung will use their Exynos chip in their most premium flagship device class in the future.
As usual, Samsung is expected to show off the Samsung Galaxy S26 series of devices at the end of January 2026, and sales will start around mid-to-late February 2026.
