The government is ready to express its intention to implement barrier-free toll systems on various highways in the next few years. In parallel, the implementation of the barrier-free toll system has reportedly been opened for bidding by the Ministry of Works, and around six parties have submitted their respective bids in developing the barrier-free toll system.
According to a report by TheEdge, the six parties consist of various big names who form a consortium. Among those submitting bids for the implementation of the system are:
JustGo Digital (a wholly-owned subsidiary of PLUS Malaysia)
Touch n Go, supported by Prolintas (Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd)
Konsortium Jaringan Selangor (wholly-owned by YTL Communications) and SEP Synergy, supported by IJM Corp (managing Sungai Besi Expressway, New Pantai Expressway, Kajang-Seremban Expressway) and Tailworks Corp Bhd (managing Grand Saga Expressway and Grand Sepadu Expressway)
Amanat Lebuhraya Rakyat Berhad (managing Kesas, Lingkaran Trans Kota, Sprint, and SMART expressway assets) in partnership with PayNet.
Setel Ventures Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary of Petronas)

At this time, it is not yet known who will win the contract. According to this initial report, it is seen that each party is working with different highway providers and managers in the bidding.
