Samsung Unveils Its Latest Storage and Memory Offerings for CES 2026

Samsung has recently unveiled its latest storage and memory offerings, namely the Samsung Detachable AutoSSD, Samsung PM9E1 M.2 22×42 and Samsung LPDDR6 memory which is expected to be the new memory standard for consumer-class computers in the future.

Starting with the Samsung Detachable AutoSSD, this SSD storage is a unique product produced for the automotive industry. It uses a new E1.A design that allows the SSD controller component and the NAND storage component to be separated, into two modular components that allow automakers to replace only one part of the component, making it more affordable to replace.

The second product is the Samsung PM9E1 M.2 22×42 SSD which comes using a more compact M.2 2242 design for smaller computers. The uniqueness of this SSD model is that it comes with the latest PCIe 5.0 data transmission technology and will come with storage options of up to 4TB.

For laptop or desktop makers, this storage is very useful to ensure that their computers come with sufficient storage and fast data transfer speeds that are in line with the support of modern CPUs.

The third component is the LPDDR6 memory module for future laptops. Technically, we won't see the use of DDR6 memory modules for at least the next 1-2 years, but memory upgrades are usually slow, and there will be a transition phase to faster memory.

Speaking of fast memory, Samsung's LPDDR6 memory is expected to come with an initial speed of 10.4GT/s-14.4GT/s, faster than today's LPDDR5X memory offerings. Not only that, it will also use less electrical power, further improving the power efficiency of a computer.

Samsung is expected to show more details about these components during the upcoming CES 2026 event in Las Vegas, USA.
