Snapdragon X-series laptops are powerful with high AI capabilities. But in our experience at Amanz, gaming support is still lacking on Windows on Arm. Today, several updates were released by Windows and Qualcomm to make Windows on Arm a better platform for gaming.
The new Snapdragon Control Panel software will automatically detect games on a Snapdragon X-series PC. It then performs the most optimal settings for the game so that it runs smoothly.
Through the same software, Adreno GPU driver software updates can also be done to support the latest games. Qualcomm says they have improved support for over 100 video games since the launch of Snadragon X devices earlier this year.
Microsoft's Prism mocking software now also supports x86 Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) which are required by video games and applications that are not native to Arm chips. Also updated is that the Xbox app now allows games that support ARM64 to be downloaded to Windows on Arm devices. Previously, it only supported Xbox game streaming.
