Vibe Relaunches as Divine – Bans AI-Generated Content

Video-sharing platform Vine was relaunched as Divine yesterday after it went under the hammer in 2016. Divine received funding from Jack Dorsey through “and Other Stuff” with the uniqueness of this platform being that it does not allow artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content. Videos up to 6 seconds can be uploaded and Divine’s system will detect that they were recorded on a phone and not AI-generated.

In addition to being revived as Divine, the developer of this app will also restore up to 200,000 classic Vine videos that were successfully backed up before the service was terminated. The original video owners can ask Divine to give them back their old accounts or request that the videos be deleted if they do not want them to appear on the site.

Because Divine received Jack Dorsey’s funding, it uses the open-source Nostr protocol. This allows other developers to create their own apps to display Divine content. Divine can be downloaded on Android and iOS devices or accessed via the divine.video/ website
