XPENG may be known to many in Malaysia as an electric vehicle antidote with various interesting options. Apart from electric vehicles, XPENG is ready to invest in various sectors, and one of them is the development of its own humanoid robot, named IRON.
What is interesting about this robot is that it can walk more or less like a human, making many say that XPENG is using humans for demonstration purposes – like Tesla once did. However, XPENG stated that it was not, thus opening up space at the feet to show that it is a full-fledged robot.
XPENG stated that they have succeeded in coming up with a robot that can perform human-like actions through their engineering advantages, in addition to supporting small-sized connections. It also uses a better battery, allowing the production of lightweight and energy-efficient robots.
This IRON robot also comes with 3 Turing AI chips with computing power reaching 3000 TOPS, in addition to including a real-world physical model by XPENG to allow it to identify the environment and interact with it.
XPENG aims to mass-produce it by the end of 2026. For the initial phase, it will focus on enterprise and commercial offerings, such as as tour guides, and traffic controllers.
XPENG also aims to offer an SDK for XPENG IRON, allowing the public to also develop applications and integrations for this robot.
