Finally, we come to the roundup of the 25 biggest tech news stories of 2025. This year is the year of artificial intelligence (AI), so don't be surprised if the majority of the news on this list is about AI. This includes issues with water use, rising RAM costs, data center projects worth hundreds of billions, the use of generative AI in commercial artwork, and more.
1. Trump Tariffs
The excessive tariffs imposed by the United States on all countries in the world are the first choice on this list because they are unreasonable actions that not only damage the American economy but also other countries. In celebration of "Liberation Day", tariffs between 10-64% are imposed on the United States' trading partners.
Malaysia is subject to a 24% tariff, while China is punished with a 67% tariff. The formula used by President Trump's administration is to impose tariffs based on the import deficit of trading partners. Malaysia exports more to America and that is why it is subject to a 24% tariff. Countries that import more from America are also punished with a 10% tariff. All of this was done by Trump to force foreign companies to return to manufacturing products in America.
The tariff war then became increasingly absurd with China at one point being imposed with tariffs as high as 245% before being reduced to only 30%. This was after China blocked the export of rare earth elements to all countries to put pressure on Trump.
Trump's tariffs were then suspended for 90 days but will expire on July 9. There is still no information whether Trump will postpone it again like the order to sell TikTok or if the global economy will fall sharply again on that date.
Finally in October, Trump came to Malaysia in conjunction with the ASEAN summit and tariffs on Malaysia were reduced to 19%. A total of 1,711 Malaysian-made goods exported were subject to lower tariffs. This exemption involved exports to America worth $5.2 billion (~RM 21.9 billion) which is equivalent to 12% of the country's total exports.
2. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Is on the Rise
Investment in AI research and AI data centers is peaking in the first half of 2025. OpenAI, Meta, Google, Microsoft, Anthropic and many other AI companies are investing trillions just to be the first to produce Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).
OpenAI with Project Stargate $500 billion to become the United States of the world's data center. Meta bought Scale Ai and established Meta Superintelligence Labs after successfully poaching the best scientists from OpenAI, Google and Safe Super Intelligence with rewards of up to $300 million each.
Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, several data centers worth hundreds of billions were also announced to achieve their aspirations to also become AI superpowers in the near future. In this excitement, an Oxford University study found that the world's AI data centers are dominated by China and the United States with 90% of them using NVIDIA hardware.
The capabilities of artificial intelligence are also increasing. Google Veo 3 can be a short film complete with matching audio. OpenAI's model has begun to put humans out of work. The CEO of Anthropic also predicted that the unemployment rate in America will increase to 20% in 5 years due to AI.
In a positive development, in China, AI chatbot services were shut down during the Gaokao exam period to prevent students from rushing to enter university and Google Deepmind predicted the movement of typhoons 15 days in advance.
3. AI Hardware Controversy In Malaysia
Controversy also hit the AI world in Malaysia after a browser machine containing NVIDIA GPUs worth $390 million was smuggled into China from Singapore via Malaysia. It became a big case because China was banned from buying NVIDIA equipment by the United States. NVIDIA equipment is considered the best and various ways are used to obtain it, even illegally.
Just a few weeks ago, a report emerged that 15 hard drives, each containing 80TB of data to train AI, were allegedly smuggled from China to be trained using an AI browser machine in Kuala Lumpur. It is seen as another effort to circumvent the access restrictions imposed on China by the United States on NVIDIA chips.
The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) in July issued a directive that the export, transfer and transit of high-performance artificial intelligence (AI) chips originating from the United States will be subject to trade permits effective immediately.
4.Malaysian Social Media Licensing Fails
Social media platforms should have licenses to operate in Malaysia starting January 1, 2025. But until this month, only Telegram, WeChat and TikTok have operating licenses according to the Ministry of Communications, even though applications have been open since August 2024.
X still insists they do not have 8 million users. Meta, which operates Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, has only expressed interest in meeting with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to discuss a license application. Google previously did not agree to YouTube being categorized as social media. MCMC has held meetings with Microsoft regarding LinkedIn licensing but to date there is no news that they will apply.
After various efforts to request social media companies to register, the government has finally implemented the Deeming Provision effective January 1, 2026, where all internet messaging and social media service providers with a minimum of 8 million users in Malaysia will be deemed registered and subject to the Application Service Provider Class License licensing framework.
This ensures that social media and internet messaging services are subject to regular, consistent and effective national legislation and regulation. This step also ensures that the social platform takes responsibility, especially when it comes to user safety, and also protects children and families.
5. Bitcoin Price Rises and Falls Throughout 2025
The price of Bitcoin rose above $100,000 after Donald Trump won the US presidential election but fell again in February. It then reached a historical high of $126,198 in October. 2025 saw the United States seek to become the world's most cryptocurrency-friendly country. This has driven the increase in the value of cryptocurrencies since March. But at the time of writing, the value of Bitcoin has fallen back to around $88,000, which is lower than the value of around $93,000 on January 1, 2025.
The market shows a trend that the value of the world's major cryptocurrencies will surge this year. This prompted James Howells, an individual in Wales, to buy a landfill. He believes that the site contains a hard drive that stores 8,000 of his Bitcoins. Since 2013, Howell has been seeking permission from Newport Council in Wales to search for the hard drive containing his Bitcoin digital wallet after it was accidentally thrown away.
His request was denied on security grounds but with the landfill now closed, he tried again in February to buy it in the hope of receiving a reward worth billions of Ringgit at the time.
6. NVIDIA First Company to Reach $5 Trillion Market Value
Due to Trump's Tariffs, the market value of the world's major companies was severely affected. For a while, NVIDIA, Microsoft and Apple lost their status as companies with a market value of more than $3 trillion. Other companies including Elon Musk's Tesla were affected by tariffs imposed on aluminum and components that had to be imported from China.
It is estimated that more than $3 trillion worth of shares were disposed of within a day of the Trump Tariffs being announced. Apple was affected because the majority of its products were still manufactured in China. Microsoft was affected because the AI data center equipment it wanted to build also had to be imported from China. NVIDIA was affected by Trump's talk that he would completely block the sale of AI chips to China. The market only recovered after Trump agreed to suspend the tariffs for 90 days.
This and the high demand for AI chips helped NVIDIA become the first company to reach a market value of $5 trillion in October. The high demand for AI also saw Apple, Microsoft and Google retain their status as companies with a market value of $4 trillion by the end of 2025.
7. Meta Poaching AI Competitors' Employees With Hundreds of Dollars
The race to become the world's largest AI company has heated up this year with Meta poaching employees from rival companies such as OpenAI, Google, Apple and Perplexity before establishing Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL). Among those successfully poached by MSL is Shengjia Zhao who is the co-creator of ChatGPT at OpenAI.
Also successfully poached from OpenAI are the creators of the o3/o4-mini, GPT-4o, GPT-4.1, GPT-4.5, 4o-imagegen, GPT-4o voice mode and o4-mini models. The development heads of Gemini, Waymo and Deepmind were also successfully poached from Google by MSL. All of them were offered salary bonuses and stock worth hundreds of millions, which were also used as bonuses by Meta to drive the artificial general intelligence (AGI) initiative at MSL.
All this happened in the middle of this year. Then, after a few months, MSL was reorganized by Mark Zuckerberg, causing newly hired employees to resign, return to their old companies or be fired. MSL allegedly had no clear direction after being established.
MSL's biggest loss was when Meta's head of artificial intelligence (AI) research, Yann LeCun, confirmed that he would be leaving the company at the end of the year to start his own AI company.
8. Cloudflare Experiences Outage – Thousands of Sites and Internet Services Disrupted
Last year, the Crowdstrike outage caused airline and business services to be disrupted globally, affecting nearly 9 million computers. Last month, major services that require internet access were disrupted for nearly 6 hours due to Cloudflare's system issues. Among those affected were X, ChatGPT itself, which could not be accessed because the system that was supposed to prevent disruption to operations was disrupted.
Cloudflare confirmed that the outage was not caused by a cyberattack as spread on social media. Instead, a change to the ClickHouse database system caused the "feature file" configuration file for the Bot Management module to double in size.
Files that are too large exceed the system limit, causing HTTP 5xx errors to increase. Cloudflare services came back and disappeared several times yesterday because the files were generated in turns every 5 minutes. Cloudflare said that following this incident they have tightened the handling of configuration files and added a global kill switch to prevent it from happening again in the future.
9. Budi Madani RON95 Subsidy (BUDI95) Introduced on September 30
The targeted subsidy program for RON95 petrol, called Budi Madani RON95 (BUDI95), was introduced on September 30, 2025. The selling price of RON95 petrol will be set at a ceiling price of RM1.99 per litre for those eligible to receive BUDI95 and RM2.60 per litre for those who are not eligible. Meanwhile, the price of RON97 petrol will remain at the current market price of RM3.21 per litre. This is also the price that foreign vehicles entering Malaysia and wanting to fill up with petrol will have to pay.
For ordinary citizens, a quota of 300 litres of petrol is given every month. For ride-hailing service drivers, a monthly quota of 800 liters per month is provided with a minimum distance of 5,000km per month. If the amount of petrol filled exceeds this limit, the vehicle owner will have to pay the current market price.
Malaysians also do not need to do any registration because the subsidy verification process uses the existing MyKad which will be verified through terminals at petrol stations and also at fuel pump terminals.
10. Proton e.MAS5 and Perodua QV-E Launched at Affordable Prices
The Proton e.MAS 5 was launched in October as the second EV produced by the local company with two versions, namely Prime and Premium and a travel distance of up to 325 KM WLTP. The Proton e.MAS 5 is sold at a price of RM 59,800 for the Prime version, while RM 72,800 for the premium version.
It comes with a 6-year warranty without any mileage limit, and a warranty on the battery and components for 8 years or 160,000 km of mileage, whichever comes first. With the e.MAS 5 offering, the local EV industry is getting more interesting after the e.MAS 7 was launched late last year. After a long wait for an EV at a more “comfortable” price. The e.MAS 5 is here for those who don’t want to spend more to use a zero-carbon emission vehicle.
This was closely followed by the launch of the Perodua QV-E earlier this month with a price tag of RM 80,000 and a separate battery rental program. This fulfills Perodua’s promise to offer a local EV at a price below RM100,000 to compete with the Proton e.MAS 5 which went on sale in October
Despite its attractive selling price, this first fully locally designed EV has been hit by controversy due to various terms and conditions imposed on battery rental. Among them is that the QV-E cannot be used as a fun-to-drive or commercial vehicle. Failure to pay the battery rental for 2 months will cause the vehicle to be remotely shut down by Perodua.
11.AI Causes RAM and Storage Prices to Soar
Mrjn Photograph/ Unsplash
The demand to build dozens of AI data centers with millions of AI chips is putting pressure on the supply of NAND chips needed for RAM and SSD storage. This year has seen the sale price of RAM and SSDs increase by up to 50% with the price of smart devices set to become more expensive, as confirmed by Dell, Acer, Asus, Xiaomi, Samsung and many more.
As a result, it is likely that microSD card support will return to Android smartphones. Meanwhile, on smartphones, devices with a base memory of 4GB RAM will also return to normal, while on PCs, 8GB will become normal. NVIDIA may also reduce production of gaming graphics cards by up to 40% next year. All due to the handling of data centers, especially to train AI models.
So far, Micron has discontinued the Crucial brand that offers RAM to the consumer market because it focuses on commercial customers. If you have been saying that AI has not had an impact on your life, next year you will realize that you will not be able to escape the negative effects of the AI war.
12. Malaysia Bans Individuals Under 16 From Registering Social Media Accounts Starting 2026
Individuals under 16 will be banned from registering social media accounts starting 2026, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said last month. This, according to Fahmi, is in line with the Online Safety Act 2025 which will come into effect on January 1.
Social media platforms will have to activate their eKYC system to verify the identity and age of users opening accounts. Identity verification will be done using MyKad, passport or MyDigital ID. This will make Malaysia the second country after Australia to ban social media access for users under 16 on December 10.
It is not yet known what the penalty will be if platforms fail to verify the age of users or users violate this ban in Malaysia. In Australia, a fine of A$49.5 million (~RM 132 million) would be imposed if this happens.
Enforcement by the Ministry of Communications is also still unclear, even though it will start in just 5 weeks. What will happen to the social media accounts of users under 16 in Malaysia is also still a question mark. This is an important question because this year social media platforms are supposed to apply for a license with the MCMC to operate but only TikTok, WeChat and Telegram have done so so far.
13. 5. Seaweed Can Prevent the Spread of Cancer
Seaweed oil has long been used to heal wounds and we are sure you have at least one at home and it is one of the handiwork when you go to Langkawi. Researchers from the University of Mississippi have now found that a compound produced by seaweed can prevent the spread of cancer.
Cancer spreads to other parts of the body through the process of metastasis caused by the enzyme Sulf-2. Human cells are covered in small hair-like structures called glycans that help with cell communication, immune response and recognition of threats such as pathogens. Cancer cells alter certain enzymes in the body, including Sulf-2 which in turn alters the structure of glycans. This modification helps cancer spread.
But the sugar compound fucosylated chondroitin sulfate produced by seaweed from the species Holothuria floridana can block Sulf-2 in tests carried out in the laboratory. When Sulf-2 is blocked, cancer metastasis can be prevented from occurring.
Another advantage of the compound produced by this sea cucumber is that it is safe to use and easier to produce than synthetic processes. The obstacle at this time is obtaining fucosylated chondroitin sulfate in large quantities to conduct clinical trials on laboratory animals before being developed for humans.
14. Construction of the World's Longest Building The Line Reportedly Has Problems
The Line- Hidden Marina
With the The Line project in Neom, Saudi Arabia wants to become a country with not only the longest but also the largest building ever built in the history of homo sapiens civilization. It is the brainchild of Prince Muhammad bin Salman with a length of 170km and a height of 500 meters.
Last month, the Financial Times reported that The Line is experiencing several major problems that will cause the project to be scaled down from the original scale. The first issue is the building design, which was found to be unrealizable because it violated the laws of physics and architecture.
Construction of the first phase of The Hidden Marina has begun, which will have a giant ship port and arch complete with giant chandeliers. Due to its mega size, engineers found that this chandelier could not be built because it would sway all the time until it destroyed itself.
The original cost of the building is now believed to have jumped to more than $4.5 trillion from the original estimate of $1 trillion. Saudi Arabia hoped that foreign investment would be able to cover some of the costs but this failed to happen.
Due to all the above issues, the original plan to build the first 20 modules along 16 km has now been reduced to only 3 modules. It will house the port, housing and the world's highest stadium that will be used for the Saudi Arabia 2034 World Cup.
15. Windows 10 Ended On October 10
On October 14, support for Windows 10 was officially ended by Microsoft. PCs with Windows 10 can still be used as usual but will no longer receive any new feature updates or security patches.
Users with equipment that meets the minimum requirements are encouraged to upgrade the operating system to Windows 11 immediately. If your PC does not pass this, you are given the option to participate in Windows 10 ESU (Extended Security Updates) which provides security updates until October 13, 2026 only.
Microsoft's decision to end support for Windows 10 has been criticized because around 41% of the world's PCs are still using the operating system that was launched more than 10 years ago. Dell revealed that there are still 1 billion PCs still using Windows 10 with 500 million PCs that can be upgraded to Window 11 but owners refuse to do so.
16. Streamyx Terminated After 24 Years
Streamyx
Telekom Malaysia terminated the Streamyx /Unifi Lite service, after a termination notice was issued on March 18, 2025. TM's official website displays a notice of the upgrade of Streamx / Unifi Lite to Unifi Broadband. Streamyx is one of the internet services that started faster internet access, before the arrival of the fiber-optic internet era.
Streamyx has been offered since 2001 and when it was launched it came with a 384kbps speed package, unlimited voice calls to home phones, unlimited internet access which is different from dial-up which has to be paid based on usage. It also comes with an @streamyx.com email account which was also used by many in the past. This email service was terminated by TM earlier.
Streamyx used to offer speeds of up to 8Mbps using a fixed-line connection. Telekom Malaysia subsequently began introducing fiber-based internet services since 2010 under the Unifi brand. With the termination of Streamyx, it joins several Telekom Malaysia brands that have been buried such as Bluehyppo.
17. Israel Uses Microsoft Azure to Monitor Palestinians
Last year, Israel carried out bomb attacks on pagers and two-way radios. This year, they were also exposed as using Microsoft Azure services to spy on Palestinian phone conversations since 2022 with the data collected later used to help carry out airstrikes and plan military operations in Gaza and the West Bank.
Microsoft finally blocked Israel from using Azure in September. In leaked documents, recordings of Palestinian phone calls were stored in Azure data centers located in the Netherlands and Ireland. In the Dutch database alone, more than 200 million hours of audio recordings were stored, taking up 11,500 TB of storage space.
Microsoft is among the companies included in the list of international Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movements due to their involvement with the Zionist regime that is actively committing genocide in Palestine according to an official report by the United Nations.
18. MIT Study Finds ChatGPT Makes Users Lazy and Brain Activity Declines
In the space of three years, OpenAI, which was previously only known among Dota fans and fans of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, has now become one of the most well-known companies in the world. Who would have thought that the developer of a bot that can beat humans in Dota would later develop a chatbot that changes how work, study and information search are done around the world.
Since its launch, many have wondered what impact ChatGPT will have on humans? We have seen thousands of individuals lose their jobs and now a study from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has found that it also has a negative impact on the human brain.
The study involved 54 participants aged 18-39 who were given the task of writing several essays for the SAT (an equivalent STPM exam). Participants were divided into three groups, with the first group writing with the help of ChatGPT, the second group using Google, and the third group without any help.
EEG devices were attached to the head to record the activity of 32 brain regions of the writer. Researchers found that ChatGPT users had the lowest brain engagement. Their brain performance was also consistently low at the neural, linguistic and behavioral levels. Within a few months, ChatGPT users also became lazier with each essay produced becoming a copy-and-paste piece by the end of the study.
Therefore, researchers suggest that the use of language models (LLMs) such as OpenAI could be harmful to the learning process, especially for young users. However, this research paper has not yet passed the peer review process and only used a relatively small sample.
19. MH370 Search Resumes on December 30
Boeing 777-200ER 9M MRO
The enigma of the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014, is still unsolved. What caused the Boeing 777-200ER with 227 passengers and 12 crew members to go missing is a matter of debate, with theories that it was intentional and some believing it was caused by supernatural forces. After more than 11 years since the plane went missing, the search will resume next week on December 30.
Ocean Infinity will conduct a 55-day search in phases in the southern Indian Ocean area believed to be the plane's final resting place. The search is being conducted under a service agreement between the Malaysian government and Ocean Infinity signed on March 25. It is being done to provide closure and justice to the families of the victims.
Ocean Infinity has been involved in two previous searches but failed to find the plane. The contract signed is for 18 months with a search area of 15,000 square kilometers. They will only receive a payment of $70 million (~RM 289 million) if they manage to find the plane wreckage
20. Human Washing Machine Can Be Bought In Japan For RM1.59 Million
Mirai Ningen Sentakki which means human washing machine was shown at Expo 2025 Osaka and it was developed by the firm Science to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the prototype human washing machine shown at Expo 1970 Osaka. At the expo site, visitors can try this human washing machine if they dare.
Originally it was just a prototype but Science is now offering Mirai Ningen Sentakki at a price of 60 million Yen (~RM 1.59 million) to interested customers with only 60 units to be produced,.
It washes the human body in just 5 minutes with the user sitting in a lying position. In the initial stage, the human body will be immersed before the shower system and soapy water spray will clean the dirt on the body.
While sitting in the cleaning pod, the user will be shown videos and music that soothes the soul. The pulse will be monitored by Mirai Ningen Sentakki to monitor stress levels. After the cleaning cycle is complete, the water will be drained from the chamber and the user can exit to dry off.
21. Albania’s AI Chatbot Minister to “Give Birth” to 83 AI Children
Diella
In September this year, Albania announced the appointment of Diella, the world’s first artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot minister specifically developed to root out irregularities in the awarding of government contracts. Because she is an AI chatbot and not a human, Diella’s decisions cannot be influenced by bribery or threats to her life to force contracts to be awarded.
Later in October, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said Diella was now “pregnant” and ready to give birth to 83 AI children who would help 83 members of parliament do their jobs. These Diella children would provide summaries of discussions in the chamber if they missed a debate session, for example.
The use of AI in administration is also set to expand beyond Diella’s original scope of monitoring contract awards. PM Rama said it will also be expanded to other sectors, including food safety and product control through Diella's children. All of these AI systems will be used in Albania by the end of 2026.
22. Elon Musk Becomes First Person to Reach $500, $600 and $700 Billion Net Worth
Elon Musk
Elon Musk earlier this year became the first person to reach a net worth of $500 billion, and last week recorded a net worth of $600 billion. A week passed and Musk once again broke his personal record by becoming the first person to reach a net worth of more than $700 billion.
At the time of writing, his net worth is worth $749 billion. His personal wealth is higher than the combined wealth of Larry Page ($253 billion) and Larry Ellison (243 billion) in 2nd and 3rd place.
This latest increase in wealth comes after a Delaware court allowed a $56 billion award payment that was denied last year. The increase in Tesla stock prices and the value of SpaceX are also catalysts for his increasing personal wealth.
Musk is now on track to become the first trillionaire in history with a reward package worth hundreds of billions to be received if he manages to achieve 20 million EV deliveries, produce 1 million Cybercab self-driving taxis for commercial purposes, produce 1 million Optimus robots also for commercial purposes and increase Tesla's profits to $400 billion from $17 billion now.
23. Johor Becomes AI Hotbed But Delays Data Center Construction Due to Water Shortage
Johor will soon become Malaysia's AI Hotbed after approving the construction of 42 new data centers earlier this year. Of these, several projects have already begun operations. The first data center with NVIDIA B200 chips was also confirmed to be built by YTL in Johor.
But the biggest news about data centers in Malaysia is that Johor has asked investors who want to build data centers that use water-based cooling systems to be delayed for at least 18 months until mid-2027.
The decision was made following concerns about the security of water supply in the state. Johor is currently facing a shortage of water resources caused by drought, pollution, and a sudden increase in demand from the industrial sector.
Then last month the Johor government will no longer approve applications for the construction of Level 1 and Level 2 data centers that use up to 50 million liters of water per day (MLD). This is high water consumption equivalent to the needs of 25 million individuals per day. From now on, only Level 3 and Level 4 data centers that use up to 0.2 MLD will be approved.
Although the overall water supply is sufficient, the state faces problems of imbalance in management and distribution. Water resources are concentrated in the central and eastern areas of Johor but demand is high in the southern part.
24. Nokia Smartphone Production Stopped
HMD Global Nokia
HMD Global has been the licensee of producing smartphones under the Nokia brand since 2016. But the era of Nokia smartphones seems to have come to an end with the HMD Global website stating that the production of smartphones such as the Nokia XR21 has been discontinued in January.
For the past two years, HMD Global has been marketing its own brand of smartphones with the HMD Fusion model going on sale in Malaysia in October. The era of Nokia smartphones is over but Nokia's regular cellular phones are still being released at an unspecified date. HMD Global has already released their own smartphones a few months ago.
In July, Nokia was said to be looking for a new smartphone manufacturing partner but until now there is still no news whether this company's smartphones will return to the market.
25.AI Begins to Be Used to Replace Talent and Special Effects in Malaysia and Globally
Media Prima is a local company that dares to use artificial intelligence (AI) technology in their programs despite criticism from the public. Earlier this month, they used an AI host to be the presenter of the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN) development coverage event featuring the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The host, named Sofea, shared important data and context that was easier for viewers to understand. Among them were the number of seats, the number of voters and also the parties contesting in this PRN.
In September, TV3 became Malaysia's first TV channel to produce a series generated entirely by AI. The animated series Misteri di Sebalik Order began airing on TikTok starting September 6. The first episode is 1:54 minutes long and follows the life of Cap, a capybara who works as a food delivery boy.
Globally, Tilly Norwood was announced as the world's first artificial intelligence (AI) actress at the Zurich Film Festival. Although she was just a creation of the firm Xicoia, Norwood reportedly caught the attention of several acting agencies who wanted to make her a client who acted in real films. In the world of pop music, AI singer Xania Monet became the first to successfully enter the Billboard music charts.
Netflix admitted to using AI to produce special effects in the series The Eternauts. In Malaysia, the films Duyung Legenda Aurora and Abu Si Raksasa began using generative AI to produce special effects this year, all of which received negative reviews from viewers.
