Circle to Search and Google Lens Now Make It Easier for Users to Identify Fraudulent Messages

Users can now use the Circle to Search and Google Lens functions to more easily identify fraudulent messages. This is because such messages often ask for money and some even contain links to dubious websites.

Through Circle to Search, users only need to long-press on the navigation bar on Android devices then circle the suspicious text for analysis. The same ability is also offered through Google Lens in the Google app on Android and iOS with simple steps, namely taking a screenshot of the message screen, opening Lens in the Google app and tapping the screenshot to process.

After these steps are taken, the artificial intelligence (AI)-based system will use information from the web to assess whether the message is likely to be a fraud. Users will then receive a complete summary with guidance and suggestions for next steps.

This function is available globally through Circle to Search and Lens, and will only be displayed when the system has a strong level of confidence in the quality of the information provided.
