Google Photos is an app for photos but with videos now the preferred medium for sharing on social media, it has been updated with better video editing features. The first feature is that it is easier to create highlight videos from photos using templates. Users only need to select the photos they want to use, the template option and the song. Photos will then automatically generate the highlight video.
The video editing features have been improved with the ease of inserting songs, decorative text and changing the video aspect ratio. Merging several clips into one long video has also been simplified. Videos can also be edited to change color through filters, stabilized from shaking and various other features that are now standard in other video apps such as TikTok and Instagram.
With the introduction of these features, Google wants to make Photos a local application for editing photos and videos without users having to upload other applications. This announced feature has started to be received on Android devices and will be provided to iOS devices in the near future.
