Ministry of Finance Updates BUDI95 Subsidy Limit for Ride-hailing Service Drivers

When the BUDI95 petrol subsidy program was introduced in October 2025, the Ministry of Finance provided an additional subsidy of 600 liters to ride-hailing service drivers in Malaysia.

Last month, the Ministry of Finance announced the provision of tiered subsidies for ride-hailing service drivers, for those who drive less than 2000KM per month (300 liters), for those who drive more than 2000KM (600 liters) per month and for those who drive more than 5000KM (800 liters) per month.

Recently, Minister of Finance II, Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said that the distance recorded through the ride-hailing company application will determine the subsidy that will be received in the following month. If the total journey recorded is less than 2000KM, it will be reduced to the original subsidy amount of 300 litres, while if your journey is from 2000KM to 5000KM, it will be increased to 600 litres per month, and if it exceeds 5000KM per month, it will be increased to 800 litres for the following month.

The driving data sent by the taxi companies will be verified by the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) and the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP) for both drivers in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah and Sarawak.

For taxi drivers from the airport, taxi operating companies can apply for a fleet card from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living via the MySubsidi website to obtain a subsidy of 800 litres of RON95 petrol per month. This fleet card can only be applied for by taxi operating companies that have registered with APAD.

The provision of BUDI95 subsidies by the Ministry of Finance will be updated from time to time, and will be announced to the public.
