X is ready to focus on integrating artificial intelligence into their social media, including for image generation. While previously, X only allowed users to generate images using text alone, now users can generate images more or less like those shared by anyone and edit and make changes to them using the support of artificial intelligence.
On each photo uploaded by users to the X platform, it has now started displaying an edit button. When tapping on it, users can provide text instructions, and then it will regenerate the image and display two results based on the instructions given by the user.
It is not known why X added the feature. However, indirectly it may open up to editing of existing photos, and the spread of fake photos through the platform. At the moment, we have not found any option to prevent the photos we upload from being edited.
With this step, it is not known whether users will be comfortable uploading photos to the platform, or vice versa. This feature has been enabled on the web, and may be coming to the mobile app.
