Last October, Adobe AI Foundry was announced as a service that allows IP holders to train their artificial intelligence (AI) models using data that is entirely their own. The service has been relaunched as Adobe Firefly Foundry with the same features that Adobe says are ethical and safe for commercial use.
With models trained with their own data and intellectual property, there is no conflict of stealing other people's work to generate new work or generate revenue. Firefly Foundry is capable of producing storyboards, speeding up the pre-production process, generating content that is consistent with the company's style and can resolve post-production issues without having to spend more money on reshoots. The content that Firefly Foundry can generate is in the form of images, video, audio, vectors and 3D content.
All of the above features are already supported in applications such as Photoshop and After Effects, but previously Adobe Firefly models were trained using data that was said to have stolen the rights of others. Firefly Foundry is seen as a solution to the ethical issues of using generative AI in producing content in the future.
