Apple today announced that it has acquired one of the artificial intelligence technology companies focused on audio. It is said that Apple paid around $2 billion to acquire the company Q.ai.
For now, Apple has not said what Q.ai technology will be used and integrated into Apple products. Q.ai has expertise in helping devices understand whispers of voice, in addition to improving audio in noisy environments through the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Google was previously among the investors in Q.ai through Google Ventures.
For Apple itself, they are ready to focus on the audio arena by integrating AI features into AirPods, such as language translation and several others. In addition, a recent report also stated that Apple is exploring the development of AI-focused devices for introduction as early as next year, in addition to devices such as smart glasses and others.
