Gaming headphones are usually more concerned with bass power and comfort for long gaming sessions. At CES 2026, the ROG Kithara was announced by ASUS as the first planar HiFi gaming headphones ever produced.
With this, it offers an audiophile-grade audio experience as it was developed in collaboration with the HIFIMAN company. There are 100mm planar magnetic drivers that are open at the back for a wider audio stage, a very wide frequency response (8Hz–55kHz), and audio distortion can be reduced.
This is matched with a MEMS microphone for clearer voice recording and can reduce background audio interference. For comfort, the headphones are made of metal and the ear pads are made of memory foam for long gaming sessions.
The connection is a 3-in-1 that is interchangeable supporting 4.4mm balanced, 3.5mm and 6.3mm jacks. This allows the ROG Kithara to be connected to a DAC, amplifier, PC, and even console according to the owner's needs. Prices have not yet been announced.
