Infinix has created a new breakthrough by introducing global satellite calling technology through the latest Infinix NOTE 60 model. The device could soon be the first phone to fully support satellite communication technology.
It is a continuation of the ‘Explorer Satellite Communication‘ technology introduced by Infinix in 2023. Unlike the previous satellite function which was only used during emergencies, Infinix has made it an always-on emergency connection. This system not only supports two-way text messaging but also allows two-way voice calls with HD quality.
Infinix claims that this satellite technology can cover almost 2/3 of the earth's surface, making it suitable for users who work or are in areas with minimal coverage such as mountains, open seas and inland areas. In addition, the system also supports automatic switching between mobile and satellite networks to ensure that the connection remains stable without requiring manual settings by the user.
Although the transmission speed is limited to 4Kbps, Infinix insists that the system has been optimized for two-way HD voice calls and SMS. With the ability to automatically switch between satellite and roaming networks, the Infinix NOTE 60 is believed to be able to ensure consistent connectivity even in areas without regular mobile coverage.
