Roborock Vacuum Robot Given Legs to Climb Stairs

Vacuum robots, although useful for cleaning floors, have a weakness when dealing with stairs and slightly higher floors. So not all floor spaces in the house can be cleaned while the owner is out. At CES 2026, the Roborock Saros Rover vacuum robot was shown equipped with a pair of legs that allow it to climb stairs.

Two rigid wheels Roborock Saros Rover are placed on the sides. When "standing" this vacuum robot can balance itself like a Segway or the fictional robot Metal Gear MK II. These legs will be folded back when not needed. In the demo video shown, Saros Rover can climb regular-sized stairs at home. According to Roborock at this time Saros Rover is just a prototype.

But in the meantime Roborock Saros 20 was launched with smaller legs that allow it to climb obstacles as high as 4.5cm such as thick carpets or doorknobs. The suction power is 35,000 Pa with a DuoDivide cleaning brush that can prevent stuck dirt. Although this product has been launched, the selling price has not been announced.
