Lenovo's Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Won't Need to Be Charged for the Rest of Their Lives

I have a few keyboard accessories attached to my computer at home. The wireless system is used because the PC is plugged directly into the TV and I like to work directly from the living room couch. After 6 months, I have to buy new batteries and this can be an issue in urgent work situations. At CES 2026, the Lenovo Self-Charging Kit Concept was shown as a wireless keyboard and mouse set that doesn't need to be charged for the rest of its life.

The Lenovo Self-Charging Kit Concept is equipped with solar panels near the keys and on the entire top surface of the mouse. It can generate electricity for the battery even in 50 Lux of light. This is equivalent to the light in offices, homes and indoor areas. As a result, the keyboard and mouse can operate indefinitely as long as there is still a light source.

Lenovo hasn't shared much other information about this kit but it reminds me of Samsung's remote control that generates power using solar and radio waves. Even after using it for 4 years, I haven't had to charge it using the USB-C port yet.
