NIke, a leading global sportswear and equipment brand, has recently been reported to be investigating claims that their data was hacked by the notorious ransomware group World Leaks.
The group claims to have uploaded 14 terabytes of Nike data. However, the data could not be downloaded or verified, and attempts to find the hacked data storage have not been found.
As such, the company’s data that was hacked could not be verified, but Nike said it is looking for evidence and investigating the claims. Nike has not yet released details about the investigation, nor has it confirmed that any ransom has been paid to recover the data.
Sportswear retailers Dick’s, Macy’s and JD Sports have also been questioned about whether the source of the hack was through their platforms, but so far, the companies have not responded to any media inquiries about it.
