NVIDIA Reportedly Delays Plans to Invest Up to $100 Billion in OpenAI

NVIDIA is now reportedly temporarily delaying plans to invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI. One of the reasons is said to be due to various doubts regarding the investment.

Previously, last September, NVIDIA had expressed its intention to invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI, in an effort to help artificial intelligence companies build infrastructure and access to chips. However, it is said that until now, discussions regarding it have not continued and have been delayed.

At the same time, NVIDIA's CEO is said to have criticized OpenAI due to concerns about various competitions from Google and Anthropic, in addition to OpenAI being seen as lacking discipline in its business approach.

Previously, many have expressed concerns about OpenAI's methods, and it has also been questioned about OpenAI's ability to bear the various collaborations and infrastructure construction announced.

However, NVIDIA still believes that they need to help OpenAI financially to continue its development, considering that OpenAI is one of NVIDIA's largest customers today. Other providers such as Google use their own TPU chips, while Anthropic also uses several combinations of chips, including those produced by Amazon.
