The Putrajaya Corporation has now informed users that they are implementing work to upgrade the traffic management system in Putrajaya to an artificial intelligence-based system. With this step, Putrajaya is aiming for a smoother traffic flow compared to the current one.
For the system, VA cameras will be used to perform video analysis while also detecting the number of vehicles, as well as accurately measuring the waiting queue distance. The system will then adjust the green light time based on current traffic, in addition to predicting traffic patterns. The system will also standardize the display of traffic lights to create a non-stop traffic flow in Putrajaya. With this step, the traffic flow is expected to be smoother, thus reducing road congestion.
Currently, the temporary transition phase is being implemented, and it is expected to be upgraded to an AI-based system in the near future. For now, the implementation timeline has not been shared yet.
