The truth is that at this point Siri is the most disappointing virtual assistant on smartphones due to its lack of features compared to Google Assistant and even Google Gemini. Even though it is the earliest virtual assistant, Apple seems to have no idea what to add with the new features that were promised a year ago that were delayed due to issues with Apple Intelligence.
Mark Gurman at Bloomberg this morning reported that the Siri interface will be updated to look like a Chatbot. This is not surprising considering the popularity of ChatGPT and Gemini now. The new Siri is being developed using the codename Campos and has already been tested by Apple employees internally. In addition to the iPhone, Campos will also be available on iPadOS 27 and macOS 27 devices.
Among the things that Campos can do are search the web, summarize information, analyze uploaded files, search from personal files and generate images directly. All of these features already exist in Gemini, so it is not surprising that it has also arrived in Siri. Last week Apple agreed to use Gemini as the basic model for Apple Intelligence.
More information about Siri Campos is believed to be shared by Apple at the WWDC event next June.
