A self-driving taxi is a concept for taxi services where vehicles can take customers from one location to another without the need for a human driver. It's something that's been talked about for years, and now, Tesla Robotaxi seems to be among the first companies to successfully do it.
This was confirmed by Tesla owner and CEO Elon Musk who tweeted on his X platform and said that Tesla Robotaxi has started offering self-driving passenger delivery services in the city of Austin, Texas in the United States.
Previously, self-driving taxi services still required a human to maintain and control the vehicle as a safety measure in case there were issues with the service.
This seems to be no longer a problem, and Robotaxi without a human driver can now be called upon by those in the city. Elon Musk also opened up opportunities for those interested in developing AI technology to join Tesla to develop new technology and also Artificial General Intelligence.
