Nowadays, almost all social media platforms have started offering paid plans and WhatsApp is no exception. Recently, news went viral that Meta is developing a premium subscription plan specifically for WhatsApp with exclusive additional functions. This was also revealed through a Wabetainfo partnership.
Unlike previous plans that emphasized more on ads, this new plan focuses on additional features to enhance the user experience. A waiting list system is also provided where users will receive notifications as soon as this plan is launched. After subscribing, they will be able to access new features designed specifically for it.
One of the features being tested is the option to change the application icon, which allows users to customize the appearance of WhatsApp on their devices. However, since this plan is still in development, some other features being tested are likely to be changed before the official launch if they do not meet user expectations.
Subscription prices have not yet been announced and are expected to vary by country. Just like the ad-free plan, this premium subscription is an additional option only.
