Eight days into 2026, WhatsApp is rolling out an update that brings several new features to Groups that will reduce confusion and provide reminders. The first feature is different name tags in Groups.
Users can put their own name tags in, for example, “Evelyn’s Dad” in a child’s school class Group to make it easier for teachers or other parents to recognize who you are in a group with many members.
When you create and send an event in a Group, you can set early reminders for the people you invite. This feature ensures that everyone invited attends the upcoming event or joins a teleconference call at the right time.
Finally, users can now convert any word into a sticker by typing your text in Sticker Search. Users can also add newly created stickers directly to personal sticker packs. All of these features are available today through the update.
