Apple today announced that they will be adding video podcast support to Apple Podcasts, giving users the option to listen to the audio-only version of a podcast, or watch it at the same time. Apple is expected to introduce this feature widely in the near future.
This will simultaneously position them in line with platforms such as YouTube and Spotify that already offer podcast support in the form of video. The development of content offerings and the way users consume content has led many to focus on video, showing that more people prefer podcasts in the form of video over audio.
In parallel with this, Apple said that content publishers using several select platforms can also add ad integration support, and generate additional revenue through it. This new offering can be tested through iOS 26.4 Beta and iPadOS 26.4 Beta. Later, Apple will activate this offering on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and also the web.
