We previously reported on the latest Kickstarter crowdfunding project from gaming device manufacturer Ayaneo, the Ayaneo Pocket Play gaming smartphone. Now, they have unveiled a product website to reveal additional specs for the smartphone.
The Ayaneo Pocket Play will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor, but memory and storage specifications have not been confirmed yet. However, we do know that the smartphone will feature a 6.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 with a refresh rate of 165Hz and a brightness rating of 430 nits.
As we mentioned earlier, it also features a sliding frame design that reveals the joystick and physical game buttons underneath. The controller also houses an 0815 X-axis linear motor that provides four levels of haptic vibration that helps provide a more immersive gaming experience.
The device will run on Android 15, and will come with a 5000mAH battery that should give the device a lifespan of several hours of continuous use. Other specifications include support for additional storage via MicroSD cards, something that is rarely seen on modern smart devices these days.
In terms of input and output support, the Ayaneo Pocket Play also houses a USB 3.2 Type-C plug with support for connecting to displays via DisplayPort 1.4 support and supports fast WiFi connections (probably WiFi7) and Bluetooth 5.2.
Like all other smart devices, it will also come with cameras on the back and rear, where the rear camera module comes with a dual-camera system consisting of a 50MP sensor for the main camera and a 15MP for the wide camera. The selfie camera also comes with a 5MP sensor.
The Ayaneo Pocket Play will also come in four color options, namely Silver White, Void Black, Origin Grey and Deep Crimson which are seen to suit the minimalist aesthetic that they are trying to highlight.
At this time, Ayaneo has yet to make a decision on when this project will be activated. It was supposed to start in mid-January, but has been postponed until now with no decision on the price tag and launch or sales date.
