Instagram is currently developing a new feature, which will allow a user to remove themselves from another user's "Close Friends" list.
For information, the "Close Friends" feature allows a user to add you to their list of close friends, and subsequently share Stories, Reels and others that are limited to be seen and watched by that list only. It has been introduced since 2018, but Instagram does not provide a space for other users to remove themselves from the list.
With this new feature, it will give users more control over adding to this "Close Friends", in addition to allowing users to remove themselves from other users' lists. At the moment, it is not known when this feature will be introduced.
For information, Instagram is also developing a paid subscription feature that will provide access to a number of additional features. It is not known whether this feature will be part of the paid feature or otherwise.
