SpaceX, Elon Musk's aerospace company, and xAI, Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company, are expected to announce the merger of the two companies as early as this week.
It is said that the two parties are currently in discussions, including having begun to inform investors about this plan. The combination of the two companies is expected to form a more valuable entity, as well as facilitate the focus on building data centers in space, and several other joint projects.
SpaceX has rocket launch services, in addition to offering internet services via satellite under Starlink. xAI has the social media X, in addition to artificial intelligence services under the Grok brand.
Bloomberg also said that the discussions between the two parties may also take longer, and there is a possibility that some parties do not agree to the merger.
In addition to the merger with xAI, it was previously reported that a merger between SpaceX and Tesla was also considered.
